EXHIBITIONS TEACHERS OF ART EXHIBITION On Saturday, October 16, 2010, a “Teachers of Art” sales exhibition will showcase over 100 works of art from more than 10 regional and national teachers of art. The reception is hosted by Kansas’ largest fine arts gallery, Mid-America Fine Arts, from 6 to 9 PM on the third floor of the Commerce Plaza Building, located at 401 East Douglas Avenue in Wichita, Kansas. Admission is free and refreshments will be served. This exhibition is intended to highlight a group of art teachers who were major influences on the development of American art. This sales exhibition will also showcase works by some of the students of these teachers to demonstrate the crucial role that teachers play in the lives of students learning the craft of art. Artist Lester Raymer, Clayton Staples, Alfred Montgomery, Joseph Meert, Karl Mattern, James Penney, Birger Sandzen along with several others will be on display.
